Refreshingly good solution drives African water aid effort
It’s amazing how a simple act at work can create some good in the world, especially if it involves water aid.
None more so than at IRIS FMP, where the company’s search for a new office water supplier has unexpected water aid benefits for people thousand of miles away. The team chose AquAid for drinking water at the office and Aquaid products carry an automatic donation to charity, bringing life-giving water to thousands of people.
AquAid have helped bring clean drinking water to more than 2.4 million people. Their first charity partnership began many years ago with Christian Aid. Thanks to our support and the support of other businesses making a conscious decision to think differently, a variety of water projects have helped bring much needed water to some of the poorest people in Africa. In 2010, AquAid founded the Africa Trust which has been instrumental in uplifting many communities across the continent.
IRIS FMP’s contribution has meant that an elephant pump, carrying the IRIS FMP name, has been built in Africa.
Laura Eden-Brown, IRIS FMP’s HR Manager commented : “This was a no-brainer for us. We were delighted that we not only got competitively priced water but with every bottle of water that we use, a 30p water aid donation is made to The Africa Trust. And having an elephant pump installed on the back of a simple business decision can’t be a bad thing, helping people to to live, function and thrive.”
AquAid also make a £20 per annum donation for every mains-fed water cooler installed and Christian Aid receives a 10p donation with every bottle of water that is supplied.
As a global business IRIS FMP has been keen to ensure good corporate responsibility and commitment to ISO14001 . Using ISO 14001:2015 can provide assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.
