    Global Expansion in Dubai

Dubai is one of the most favoured cities for business expansion into the Middle East. Not only is there a strong economy and no income tax for companies or individuals, there are also endless opportunities for growth. With a business-friendly infrastructure and high quality of life for those working and living there, Dubai is the perfect place to do business.

However, despite Dubai’s tax advantages, you still need a payroll and HR specialist who knows the ins and outs of the laws and legislation surrounding pay and work in the UAE. A prime example being that almost all official documents, forms, laws and decrees in Dubai are in Arabic – luckily IRIS FMP can help you speak their language.

    Employer Must-Dos

In Dubai and the UAE, the following must be submitted:

    • Accrual reports
    • Salary transfer letters
    • Travel expenses

    HR in Dubai

What are the regular working hours in Dubai?

In Dubai, the usual working week starts on Sunday and ends on Thursday – 8 hours daily. Friday and Saturday are seen as days of rest, though it is not unusual for people to work on Saturday.

    Termination

An employer has the rights to terminate an employee depending on a number of factors; these differ between employees hired under a limited or an unlimited contract. Employers must make sure reasons for terminations are compliant with the UAE Labour Law.

Payroll in Dubai – Considerations & Rules

    What tax considerations are there?

As mentioned previously, there is no income tax for companies and individuals in the UAE and this is likely to remain the case for many years to come. However, it is often assumed that Dubai is an entirely tax-free city – this is not the case. Certain businesses are subject to corporate tax, such as foreign gas or oil production companies and branches of foreign banks throughout Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Fujairah.
