FMP Payroll Services (then known as Bond Payroll Services) scooped the Outstanding Achievement award at the inaugural Global Payroll Awards held on 26.05.16. The award was received at a glittering ceremony within London’s premier visitor attraction, the Tower of London.
The awards celebrate technical excellence and professional development amongst companies and their payroll teams operating in-country and internationally. The Judges Award, decided by an international panel of judges across all entry categories, was given for FMP’s outstanding customer service, business and operational success, and work securing CIPP Payroll Assurance Scheme and other accreditations during 2015. All achieved during testing circumstances whilst Neil Lagden, FMP Payroll Services Managing Director, was away from the business.
Neil spent a good portion of 2015 and early 2016 dealing with a life threatening eight and a half centimetre brain tumour, enduring invasive surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The Outstanding Achievement award is the third award in six months, and has come at the right time for the business as Neil has only recently completed treatment, returning to full health and rejoining the FMP Payroll Services team.
‘Staring Death in the Face, Survival, and Moving On’ is the story of how the business still continued to thrive and Lagden’s tale is a superb example of how to get life (and death) right within a company. It’s also a wake-up call for any business to think proactively about key man insurance, contingency planning, documenting procedures, effective payroll support, and motivating a team through a crisis.
The Outstanding Achievement award follows on from FMP’s Payroll Team award at the Payroll World Awards in November 2015, and a Scoot Headline Award. The Scoot Headline awards are a prestigious business awards campaign to recognise and reward the achievements of British businesses, large and small.
Award submissions are important for any business. Read my blog on why winning an award is important for your team, whether you’re in payroll or not.
